I pretty much got everything I asked for in the previous post:
Well the spam at work is pretty much a thing of the past thanks to the help of Spamhaus.org and their XBL-SBL (exploit block list and spam block list) lists. Kendra and I got a new Jetta instead of the Xterra. Had an AWESOME Quiznos sandwich yesterday. To top it all off Kendra got me the complete series of West Wing which came in a nifty box which is made up inside to look like a file folder type setup.
Well apparently ask and ye shall receive and/or ask and ye shall have to research it and implement the replacement yourself.

I want SPAM to stop coming to my inbox, and thus to my BlackBerry.
I want a Nissan Xterra. Manual transmission of course.
I want a large Quiznos submarine sandwich right about now.
I want Season 6 and 7 of The West Wing on DVD.
Who knows what else I want….perhaps I will add to the list some day…

I am 100% convinced that I am currently the world record holder for getting in and out of the DMV. The New York State DMV at that. And the one IN MANHATTAN, AT LUNCH TIME! I was in and out in 35 minutes, with new license plates and registration for the car, and a New York State Drivers License. That is “awesome with a capital ‘a’” as the most annoying Dick Vitale will tell you.
I rule….people need t-shirts with me on them giving a ‘thumbs-up’.

A close family friend recently passed away. Unexpectedly, he left members of our family a little money. Now, this man never had a family of his own. No wife, no children. He has some scattered family in Greece but none here in the United States, and so our family welcomed him into our homes and lives. He would come to family events (Christmas, etc.). His generosity was unexpected, and while not unwelcome, was certainly unnecessary. I will accept the money, because I didn’t solicit it from him. I do not like ‘gold diggers’ or people whom are just in it for the money after someone passes. To his memory, I want to say thank you to him. He was a wonderful, soft-spoken man with a heart inexplicably huge. Perhaps he felt the same about us. May his memory be eternal.

This law is to keep members of the Westboro Baptist Church from protesting at military funerals. I am all for it. These people from this church, I use that term loosely, as it is really just a gathering of family members, are ULTRA-conservative. And yes, you read that right, all of the members of that church are related to the founder. In my mind that immediately discredits them. I don’t agree with anything they say, or anything they believe. I think there is need for a law to prohibit them from being seen or heard by a grieving family. These “church-goers” are media lovers. THEY LOVE THE ATTENTION.
Now, there is nothing wrong with having socially controversial beliefs, however, professing those beliefs in a rude, and hateful manner, without regard for anyone else, is the definition of ignorant.
Comments?
//EDIT// Mike Dao made a valid point. He says that there should not be a law because the person who died, died so that these people could protest there. However, there is still a family that is grieving. They shouldn’t see people standing outside of the church where the funeral is going on with signs that say “god hates fags”. Again with the ignorance of these protestors.

Phone system….check!
So I found out last week that Cancer Research, my employer, is being forced out of our current office. Which is fine, however I just had the phone system installed. Oh well, as this is a GREAT opportuninty for me. I’ll explain.
By moving I can set up the infrastructure of the networking and computer hardware the way it is supposed to be. No more wires running across the floor. No more tangled rat nests of wires. It will certainly look much better and be much easier to find locations of wires. ALSO, I might just be able to remove the server rack from my office, and place it in a server room where it should be.
Well, tomorrow night is a company ‘happy hour’ and this should be fun. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Anyway, time to make some dinner.

So I am writing this on my blackberry while riding the train home. Interesting I must say.
So after a long time (about one month) my couch will finally be delivered on Wednesday. I am excited for this, however, I still do not have a television and have instead relied on the TV card that I have in my computer to enjoy watching. If anyone cares to donate a new or used 50inch or larger plasma screen flat panel TV (must be in good working order) I would be eternally grateful!
Anyway, this is a busy two weeks for me at work. This week I have to install my ISA server as well as prepare a computer for a new arriving employee. Next week my new phone system arrives and so that will be great fun!
We are having a short happy hour on Thursday evening which should be a good time.
On Monday Kendra will be coming into the city with me to work, although I am sure she will be shopping or doing the tourist thing.
As you can see…a pretty busy time for me.
